Why the buggy calms most first-timers
Familiarity does most of the work. Nearly everyone who books our buggy safari in Side has sat in a car, so a wheel, pedals and a belt are known territory, while handlebars and a thumb throttle would be brand new on the morning you also meet dust, ruts and a moving group. The rest is company: with someone in the second seat you can say slower out loud and be heard. Some nervous guests are not worried about the machine at all, but about being stuck with somebody else's driving. The third answer nobody offers you: do not drive
Riding as a belted passenger is a real ticket, not a consolation prize. Passengers travel from age 6 on both machines, securely belted, and see the same tracks, mud pits and water-splash stops as everyone else. Drivers are 16 and over and show ID at our base. Our guides mind only that the group moves together.
What actually calms people down
Both things that change how people feel are included and happen before the track. The briefing covers the controls, the hand signals and how the convoy works. Then everyone takes a supervised test drive on our own ground with a guide watching, which is not a formality but the moment the decision gets made. If it shows the quad is more machine than you want today, you move to a buggy or passenger seat right there. How the pace is set on the track
Departures run with a maximum of 40 guests, one guide at the front setting the speed and another at the back so nobody is left alone. Ask at the briefing to ride near the rear guide: the calmest place in the convoy. Riding time is around 1.5 to 2 hours on forest tracks in the Taurus foothills behind Side, with dust, mud pits and water splashes, so you will get dirty.

Is a buggy genuinely easier than a quad for a first-timer?
For most anxious guests it feels easier, because the controls copy a car. It is not automatically better for everyone: if you want your own machine and your own rhythm, the quad is the one you will enjoy.
What if I want to stop in the middle of the route?
Tell the guide riding at the back, who is there for exactly this. The convoy stops regularly anyway, and a stop is also the moment to change your mind about driving.
Can two nervous friends share one buggy?
Yes. A buggy is a two-seater side by side with belts for both: one drives, one rides, and neither of you is out there alone.
Do I have to decide quad or buggy when I book?
You book a specific tour, so tell us early if you want to change it. What stays flexible at the base is the seat: driver or passenger, decided after the test drive.
