Wondering what happens on a buggy safari in Side? The short version: a roughly 4-hour, hotel-to-hotel adventure. We collect you free from your hotel, run a safety briefing and a supervised test drive at our base, then lead you through about 1.5-2 hours of real off-road driving in a two-seater buggy — forest tracks, dust, mud pits and water-splash stops in the Taurus foothills behind Side. Afterwards you shower, change and we drive you back. The Side Buggy Safari costs €30 per adult and €18 per child, booking online is free and you pay on the day of the tour.
Step 1: Free hotel pickup — morning or afternoon session
Everything starts at your hotel door. Pickup is free from Side centre, Kumköy, Evrenseki, Çolaklı, Gündoğdu, Sorgun and Titreyengöl, and you choose a morning or an afternoon session when you book — we confirm your exact pickup time with your booking. Staying in Belek, Kemer or Alanya? Separate buggy and quad tours run from those resorts with their own pricing — no need to travel to Side first.
Step 2: At the base — briefing, seat belts and helmet
The transfer up to our base in the Taurus foothills is short. On arrival our guides gather the whole group for a safety briefing: how the buggy steers, what the roll cage and seat belts do, convoy distance and the guides' hand signals. A helmet is included for every guest, and there are changing cabins — the moment to switch into clothes you do not mind ruining. Optional extras at the base: goggles, bandanas, food and drinks, and a professional photo-video service.
Step 3: The supervised test drive
Before anyone enters the track, every driver takes a supervised test drive at the base. Our guides watch how you handle the machine: guests who control the buggy confidently ride as drivers, and anyone who prefers not to drive simply joins as a passenger — you lose nothing of the experience. Drivers must be at least 16 and show ID at the base. If you have back or neck problems, tell your guide and take the passenger seat.
Step 4: The ride — 1.5 to 2 hours of dust, mud and water
This is the heart of the tour. For about 1.5-2 hours you follow our guides in convoy along the forest tracks behind Side: dry sections first, where dust plumes rise behind every machine, then mud pits, and finally the water-splash stops where everyone gets gloriously soaked. Departures run with up to 40 guests, and our guides control the group and the pace the whole time.
One tip from our team: bring a complete change of clothes — not just a T-shirt, everything. Between the dust, the mud and the water you will need it. Our guide on what to wear for a quad or buggy safari in Side covers footwear, sunglasses and phone protection.
One buggy, two seats: the shared adventure
The biggest difference between a buggy and a quad is who shares the moment. A quad is a single-rider ATV — one machine per driver, a solo ride. A buggy is a two-seater side-by-side with a roll cage, a steering wheel and proper seat belts, so the same track becomes a shared experience: couples take the mud pits together, and a parent can drive with a child from age 6 securely belted in beside them. That is why we recommend the buggy to families and couples first. Compare every buggy route we run on our buggy safari overview page.
Step 5: Showers, changing cabins and the ride home
Back at the base there are showers and changing cabins, so the mud stays in the mountains and you head home dry. Then we drive you back to your hotel: door to door the programme takes about 4 hours, leaving the rest of the day for the pool or the beach.
