Out of the Resort Strip in Twenty Minutes
Belek is golf courses, manicured avenues and five-star gates — and then, remarkably quickly, it is not. The Belek quad safari collects you free from your hotel door in the cool of the morning and runs a short way inland, where the landscaping stops and open countryside with the Taurus foothills behind it begins. The whole outing is scheduled at around four hours door to door, which puts you back at the pool with most of the afternoon intact.
Graded Moderate, and Why That Matters
Of the quad departures we run, Belek is the one graded moderate rather than easy. The tracks are rutted, the dirt trails buck more, and the muddy sections are properly muddy. That is not a warning so much as a description: the route is built for fun rather than fear, the lead guide runs the convoy in single file and sets the pace, and first-timers finish it grinning every day of the season. But if you want the gentlest possible introduction, the coastal departures at Side or Kumköy are the easier grade.
What Comes With It
Included in the price: the fuelled ATV for the whole route, helmet and dust mask, liability insurance, the experienced guide and the safety briefing, and return transfer from the Belek and Kadriye area. Not included: gratuities, the drinks and snacks at the rest stop, professional photo and video, and the single-quad supplement if you would rather not share.
That last one is worth planning for. Quads on this departure can be ridden solo or two-up, and riding alone is charged as a supplement — decide with your group before you arrive rather than at the base.
Ages, and Who Takes the Wheel
Drivers on the Belek departure must be sixteen or over; passengers ride from eight years. Off-road is off-road, so ability decides the rest: after the briefing and the practice loop, riders who are handling the machine confidently keep it for the route, and anyone who would rather be driven — or who the guide judges should not drive that day — covers exactly the same trail from the passenger position, for the same price.
The Rest Stop Is Part of the Product
Halfway round, the convoy stops in open country. It is a scenic pause for photographs, a cold drink and the ritual comparison of who is filthiest. Do not skip it in your head when planning the day — it is a real break, not a token one, and it is where most of the photographs people actually keep get taken.
What to Wear
Old clothes and closed shoes, without exception. Sunglasses, sunscreen and a full change of clothes for the ride home. The dust mask is provided; a bandana over it is still a good idea on the dry stretches.
